DESCRIPTION
A strategic framework guides policymakers in assessing national finance needs to meet sustainable development targets, with a special focus on climate action. It facilitates balancing targeted investments with maintaining the sustainability of external and public financial positions.
UNCTAD developed the Sustainable Development Finance Assessment Framework Mark I as a tool for policymakers to assess their country’s development finance needs to achieve the most relevant sustainable development goals while simultaneously ensuring the sustainability of their external and public sector financial positions. The present report extends this framework to additionally consider SDG 13 — Climate action —and climate aspects of other SDGs.
