Inspirational drama based on the autobiography of Bethany Hamilton, a teenage surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack at the age of 13 and went on to overcome all the odds and become a surfing champion. While out surfing with friend Alana (Lorraine Nicholson) and her family, Bethany (Robb) is attacked by a tiger shark, causing her to lose her left arm and a considerable amount of blood. Lucky to survive, Bethany continues to surf but quits after a poor performance. After travelling to Thailand to help the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, however, she gets the motivation she needs to get back in the water. The cast also features Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt and Carrie Underwood.
