Het spannende waargebeurde verhaal van FBI-agent Mark Putham (Jack Hutson) die naar een bergstadje in Kentucky wordt gestuurd om een aantal opvallende illegale praktijken te onderzoeken. Mark raakt al gauw betrokken bij een zaak waarin de arme lokale vrouw Susan (Emilia Clarke) zijn belangrijkste informant wordt. Susan ziet Mark als een manier om te ontsnappen en hun band wordt steeds persoonlijker. In werkelijkheid blijkt deze affaire een ramp te zijn voor beiden.

De hoofdrollen in deze film worden vertolkt door Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Last Christmas) en Jack Hutson (The Irishman, Kill Your Darlings).
