alex fletcher, una pop star degli anni '80 ormai dimenticata dal grande pubblico e ridotta a cantare alle fiere di paese, che ottiene la possibilita' di fare un grande rientro quando la famosissima cantante cora corman gli chiede di scrivere una canzone per lei e cantarla insieme in duetto. il problema e' che sono anni che fletcher non compone e inoltre non ha mai scritto dei testi. entra allora in scena sophie fisher, la sua fiorista, che abile con le parole riuscira' a far breccia nel cuore e nella mente dell'ex star.
