Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1986 album from the British outfit including one bonus track. At the time of Salome's recording, the synthesizer revolution of the 80's was well under way. Bronski Beat and Marc Almond were feeling love, Tears For Fears wanted to rule the world; The Enid wanted to explore the sexual tension betwixt John the Baptist and biblical temptress Salome using the power of ballet. They achieved their goal; to the extent that Salome was performed at the Hammersmith Odeon. A departure from their original, orchestrated, symphonic Rock movements, Salome features a pared down version of the band featuring only Godfrey, Stewart, Storey and North. The darkly emotive tension pervades the whole recording, an apt reflection of The Enids' mood at the time per chance?
