Between the Two Storms

This new album from pianist and composer Vlad Miller, features some of the most experienced players on the London scene. Best known for his work with guitarist Richard Flanagan, Vladimir has been very active on the European music scene working especially with leading improvisers from Russia.

Between 1992 and 1995 Miller travelled widely in the former Soviet Union, exploring new avenues of music, and performing at major contemporary music festivals as a soloist, and with Russian musicians. Two further Russian tours followed, both British Council sponsored, one with multi-instrumentalist Paul Moss, and the other, a music education project to Siberia and Tuva, with percussionist Ken Hyder. Throughout this time, Vlad was also composer and musical director of the Moscow Composers' Orchestra, and he developed a strong European approach stemming from his interests in 20th century classical composition and eastern European folk music.
