Lange tijd was er totaal geen aandacht voor de - weinige - traditionele muziek die nog over is op deze eilandengroep. De muzikanten speelden liever Amerikaanse pop. Ook de Spaanse kolonisatie heeft zijn sporen achtergelaten. Deze cd is daardoor een zeer afwisselende mix geworden, van traditionele muziek op gongs en bamboefluiten, Spaanse klanken op mandoline en gitaren en de muziek van de plaatselijke moslims, die weer heel anders klinkt.
