Lush Life

Saxaphone player Al (Jeff Goldblum) and trumpeter Buddy (Forest Whitaker) are top session players. They play everything from Broadway to bar mitzvahs. They may not be superstars, but they are the backbone of the music business and best friends. Whilst Al is dealing with his marital difficulties, worse news is yet to come when Buddy is diagnosed with an inoperable tumour. The only thing to do is throw a party. Buddy wants the biggest and best party his friends have ever seen and the only blues anyone should think about are the ones coming from Al and Buddys instruments. Surrounded by their friends, this is one special gig that embraces both a lifetime of friendship and music as the guys play their final duet united by the sexy, jazzy music that has filled their lives.
