Fragile

FRAGILE was written after the darkest day of my life. My life changed forever, and that's how the story of this album began. After my father died, I wrote the chorus of Fragile while I was in the shower and didn't know what to do next. Almost three years have passed and I'm still lost. My best friend and mentor, my father, has died. I doubt I'll ever let anyone get that close to me, just so I don't get hurt again. My mother betrayed me and ran away; & my grandmother, who helped raise me, is dead & my grandfather died after we were deprived of seeing him for weeks. After almost three years of damage control, and now that the hard part is finally done, there's still a big void that can't be filled. Some say the grief will always be there, but it's slowly fading. While it's certainly fading at the same time, I feel as if the wound in my heart is getting bigger every day and hurting more and more. Then I don't feel anything for days. I'm simply anesthetized. I'm angry with myself because I don't feel anything, because I don't cry, I don't scream, I don't collapse. I push people away because nothing makes sense and there's no point in continuing something that isn't pure. I'm not fragile, I'm finally broken.
