Originally released in 1979, Ooh La La is the debut and only studio album from American singer Suzi Lane, born Suzilienne McDonald. A former model turned recording artist, Lane relocated to Germany at the height of the disco explosion and found herself recording in Munich’s legendary Musicland Studios, the creative hub behind some of the era’s most influential dance music and where she also met Giorgio’s rising super star Donna Summer. Immersed in the sleek, synth- driven Munich Machine trademark sound, Lane’s hits for Moroder, the title track ‘Ooh La La’ and ‘Harmony’ both reached number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music Chart, confirming her immediate impact on the US club scene. The songs became staples in disco clubs and remain favourites among disco aficionados and DJs today. Across tracks such as ‘Givin’ It Up,’ ‘No One Home In The City’ and ‘Morning, Noon And Night,’ the album balances dancefloor intensity with polished pop songwriting. Decades on, Ooh La La stands as a cult favourite of the late 70s disco era, a glossy, infectious snapshot of the international Munich sound at its peak.
