Acheron

Created in 2016, VIRGIL mixes genres without imposing a limit. The band distills dark and violent music associated with sometimes heavy, sometimes melodic riffs that maintain an unhealthy atmosphere as well as a sound of rare brutality. From death metal to black/post black, the band takes its name from Dante's guide during his "hellish journey". Let yourself be invaded by darkness and follow VIRGIL on his journey. Inspired by Greek and Roman mythology as well as Virgil and Dante's journey into hell, "Acheron" resonates as an inner journey between evil being, questioning the mortality of beings and sensory relationship to matter. In 12 tracks, VIRGIL realized a powerful and suffocating Modern Black Death album. Titles like "Black Feather", "Mother" or "Eternity" oscillate between aggression and melancholy when "Cocyte", "Ignis" and "Martyr" are just a rise to extreme anger. We wanted to make a "primary" album as a succession of feelings fled deep within ourselves.
