Ziusudra

SunStare, the ancient king of Uruk and Atrahasis. Since its inception in 2013, SunStare has created an imposing mix of doom and sludge strongly steeped in Sumerian myths and legends. A universe made of long rhythmic ranges, dark and dissonant melodies overlooked by a wide vocal register. About 4,800 years ago, humanity flouted its first poems and epics through the cuneiform writing of Sumerians, in the cradle of Lower Mesopotamia. Among these is the legend of Gilgamesh, king of Uruk, unjust and cruel. In this myth, Gilgamesh meets in the desert, Uta-Napishtim, a man who has already lived a thousand lives. This man, the Atrahasis, the very wise, the eternal, SunStare tells us his story, our story in Ziusudra. "Ziusudra" (literally "Life for Extended Days" and therefore "Immortal") is Noah's ark before it was plundered by other, more modern religions. The gods, weary of humanity, of its decay, of its incessant noise, made the decision to destroy it at all costs, in order to find peace. Epidemics, natural disasters, wars, famines. The human being saw his era end in great entropy: fierce chaos. Only Uta-Napishtim survived on his ark, alone, for centuries. This third album is in line with the other two, more balanced, more varied in terms of rhythms and musical approaches. Each sound pulsation must hammer the listener, not leave him unscathed, or in any case, make him out different from that experience. This album is to be considered a monolith: each track is interdependent from the others, because each one tells a different part of this epic.
