This formidable group, bursting with ideas and techniques, show undeniable mastery of their subject, that is to say, the passionate and enthusiastic execution of a series of eight instrumentals, complicated in terms of structure and breaks. The percussion and cosmic keyboards blend with syncopated guitars to sketch the outline of a mutant and hypnotizing Funk which cannot be resisted for long. We give in and surrender ourselves completely to the pure joy of music as wild as it is powerful. CCPP undeniably represents one of Jazz Funk's finest hours, devilishly wise, but infinitely human.
