Georges Moustaki was one of the most brilliant French singer-songwriters, building an audience by performing the songs of others before reaching fame at the end of the Sixties with his own song "Le MEtEque." He wrote lyrics and music for some of the greatest artists of his time, among them Montand, Barbara, Cora Vaucaire, Dalida, Serge Reggiani, and especially Edith Piaf, for whom he wrote "Milord", one of her best-known songs. In this 3CD set, Olivier Julien examines the early work of this activist-dreamer, an artist whose hundreds of songs are part of France's cultural heritage. Patrick FREMEAUX
