EDITORIAL REVIEWS
After 6 critically acclaimed recordings with Pearl Django and Hot Club Sandwich, guitarist and composer, Greg Ruby pushes the boundaries of hot jazz string music with the release of Look Both Ways. In 2009, Ruby received artist support grants to compose and record new compositions inspired by Gypsy jazz guitar legend, Django Reinhardt. The Greg Ruby Quartet was formed to record and perform those compositions and to pay homage to the musical genius of Django on the auspicious event of the 100th anniversary of his birth. Featuring 12 original compositions, Look Both Ways brings together a who's who list of American string musicians dedicated to the legacy of Django Reinhardt including: Frank Vignola (Les Paul Trio, David Grisman Quintet), Evan Price (Hot Club of San Francisco, Turtle Island String Quartet) and Doug Martin (John Jorgenson Quintet).
