Garden City Blues: Detroit's Jumping Scene 1948-1960

Detroit was ooit het hart van de Amerikaanse auto-industrie, maar had geen platenlabel van enige omvang. Totdat Elmer Barbee, de eigenaar van een platenwinkel met studio, John Lee Hooker ontdekte. Zij werkten gedurende een jaar samen, totdat Hooker bekend werd met zijn nummer Boogie Chillun. Op deze leuke cd-box zijn die allervroegste tracks van Hooker uit de jaren 40 samengebracht en aangevuld met andere bluesmen uit Detroit, sommigen bekend (Eddie Burns, Eddie Kirkland) en anderen die deze status nooit bereikten, zoals Alfred Dunham en James Walton.
