Immeasurable Light

Wu Man is een internationaal bekende pipaspeelster (Chinese luit), die veelzijdig en ruimdenkend is. Ze werkt met klassieke orkesten, maar ook het Kronos Quartet en Yo Yo Ma behoren tot haar muzikale vrienden. Op haar nieuwe cd combineert ze gereconstrueerde oude pipa-melodieÙn uit de 8e tot 12e eeuw met haar eigen composities. Op twee tracks speelt ze samen met het Kronos Quartet stukken uit het Boeddhistische schaduwtheater, maar ze experimenteert ook met snaren en geluiden. Fascinerend en meeslepend.
