The nickel silver alloy tip properly guides the paint over the needle before releasing it, creating a pencil line to a 1 1/2-inch (38 millimeter) spray pattern. The drop in self-centering tip design eliminates the need to further seal the tip. As the needle retracts through the tip, it increases the release of paint.
