Survivors of a deadly alien invasion of monstrous creatures live a primitive existence at high altitude in the post-apocalyptic Rocky Mountains. Only here are they safe, because for mysterious reasons the monsters can only reach altitudes of 2,500 meters. When a father (Anthony Mackie) discovers his son's medicine is running low, he is forced to leave the safety of the mountains in search of a new supply before his son dies. Along with two courageous women, he embarks on a mission into the perilous lowlands.
