Sam (Karen Gillan) was pas twaalf jaar oud toen haar moeder Scarlet (Lena Headey), een vooraanstaande sluipmoordenaar, gedwongen werd om haar te verlaten. Opgevangen door The Firm - de misdaadorganisatie waar haar moeder voor werkte, treedt ze in haar moeders voetsporen en werkt ze zich op tot huurmoordenaar. Wanneer Sam vervolgens een jong meisje onder haar hoede neemt, worden alle zaken echter op zijn kop gezet en moet ze zich tegen the Firm keren.
