De Stand van de Zon is een documentaire over het leven van een doorsnee Indonesisch gezin. De politieke onrust in Indonesië alsmede de economische crisis hebben familieconflicten tot resultaat. De film laat op een zeer filmische, betrokken manier zien hoe, ondanks de vele problemen en conflicten, mensen in Indonesië er uiteindelijk toch in slagen het hoofd boven water te houden.
