Archie MacDonald (Alastair MacKenzie) is building a good reputation as a London restauranteur when he receives word from his home in the Scottish Highlands that his father (Richard Briers) has been injured in an accident. Archie returns home, discovers that the family estate is in dire financial straits, and reluctantly agrees to stay and help out. Of course, this decision brings him all kinds of trouble, not least that which he receives from his childhood friend Katrina, who is now involved in protecting the rights of the locals.
