Renoir

The Essential Paintings
This sumptuous boxed set traces the development of Renoir’s painting across subjects, periods, and scale.

One of the central figures of French Impressionism, Pierre-Auguste Renoir helped redefine modern painting through his sustained attention to light, the human figure, and the textures of everyday life. Spanning the full course of his career, this distinctive edition brings together a wide selection of Renoir’s most significant paintings in a format that encourages extended looking and visual comparison.
The main book has an accordion-fold structure, which allows works from different moments and involving diverse subjects to be seen together, revealing continuities as well as shifts in approach. The selection moves fluidly from scenes of modern leisure and social exchange—among them Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette, Luncheon of the Boating Party, and Dance at Bougival—to portraits and landscapes such as Two Sisters (On the Terrace) and A Road in Louveciennes.
Housed in a slipcase, the main hardback volume contains finely reproduced color plates and is accompanied by a separate booklet providing specifications and concise annotations for each work, situating the paintings historically and thematically.
Designed for museum visitors and collectors, this lavish set of books offers a focused encounter with an artist who helped shape the visual language of modern life.
