The Collection. The Museum Brandhorst is one of the most important and fastest growing collections of contemporary Art worldwide. Since opening in 2009, the Museum Brandhorst has quickly established itself as one of Germany's leading museums of contemporary art, including Europe's largest collections of works by Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol. Over the last ten years, the Brandhorst Collection has nearly doubled in size, forming an arc from the late 1950s to the present. Alongside a history of the collection, this publication places the core works of the 1960s. '70s, and '80s in dialogue with acquisitions from more recent decades.
