The second volume from the “Art of the Lost Generation” Museum continues to explore artists who were excluded, persecuted, censored or driven into obscurity under the Nazi regime. As one of the era’s few remaining contemporary witnesses, Heinz R. Böhme has assembled this collection to preserve the legacy for future generations.

The goal of the Böhme Collection is to process, preserve and present unique works of art. This vivid and richly illustrated catalogue contributes to a critical examination of the past, allowing the art from that period to be seen and the stories to live on. With fifty new biographies and an expanded inventory of around seven hundred works with related texts, this volume opens another chapter of engagement with a challenging legacy.
