Ninety men emerge painfully from these gliders and seize in a few minutes of the work by a spectacular "helping hand". He is the vanguard of the 6th Airborne Division which will jump a few minutes later between Orne and Dives, for cover the eastern flank of the Normandy landings. The missions assigned to it will all be successfully completed despite widely dispersed drops. But it is not as the beginning of three long months of fighting for British paratroopers.
