Joining Lief is an ex-palace guard Barda and wild child Jasmine, who is from the Forests of Silence and who can speak to trees. In Deltora Quest 2 evil still reigns in the Shadowlands of Deltora. Lief, Barda and Jasmine join forces again to find a weapon powerful enough to defeat the shadow lord in his own realm. Their quest is to find the seven gems of the fabled Belt of Deltora, but they must face all sorts of perils to find them.
