Written by an IVF mum, this simple story celebrates the many ways babies come into families, like adoption, surrogacy, IVF, donors, fertility, premature babies, twins and triplets. The next time you look up at the night sky, look really hard; you might be lucky enough to see the sparkling metal planet with all its robots and all their robo-babies.
Following the birth of her miracle baby - from the one viable embryo - Laura decided to create a story that allowed other families to talk about and celebrate the many different ways that babies arrive into the world. This magical story for preschool children introduces a variety of robot families and their babies, of all shapes and sizes, and explains, in simple terms, the different ways families can be formed as well as the range of emotions parents can feel in relation to starting a family. Robo-Babies is a warm and gentle story for sharing with children who perhaps arrived into their families down a more complicated path, but is also perfect for sharing with all children as a way to normalise the many different ways babies can meet their parents.
