Character Design Quarterly (CDQ) is a lively, creative magazine bringing inspiration, expert insights, and leading techniques from professional illustrators, artists, and character art enthusiasts worldwide.

Ben Eblen, a prolific designer and illustrator from Australia, has created the cover for issue 29. He's created incredible tutorials for CDQ in the past and always proved popular, so we are thrilled to feature his art on the cover this time. We have tutorials from Andy Na, who explores the use of colour in character design, and Sarah Lisa Hleb, who tackles our Characterize This challenge, plus an interview with CDQ and Instagram favourite Poopikat.
