Preliminary matters, including tenant references and guarantees are discussed.The law relating to when the landlord’s consent fordealings is required is described. The basic requirements of key taxes are setout, including stamp duty land tax and corporation tax on capital gains. 

The provisions for security of tenure under Part II Landlord and Tenant Act1954 are explained, including the provisions for opting out. The conveyancingsteps for a commercial conveyancing transaction are then set out, includingtaking instructions, investigating title, drafting the contract, searches andenquiries, planning considerations, financing, exchange and completion. 

Finally, recent and proposed reforms are outlined. 

The book is supported by a number of activities and links to practice whichreflect the author’s wide-ranging experience in commercial conveyancing.
