On Ajayi Crowther Street

A Lagos graphic novel that slips behind Sunday smiles to expose the real street rules—where respectability is a hustle, secrets run the neighbourhood, and even a pastor’s home is never as holy as it looks.

Step onto a Lagos street where virtue is performed, secrets travel fast, and a pastor's family discovers that respectability cannot hide desire forever. A bold graphic novel peeling back the city's quiet hypocrisies.

On Ajayi Crowther Street takes readers into a Lagos neighbourhood where gossip is currency, everyone performs holiness, and nothing is as spotless as it seems. Behind the pastor's front door, Godstime hides his sexuality, Keturah conceals her pregnancy, and Reverend Akpoborie suppresses desires that could shatter the carefully crafted image he has built. As the community watches, the cracks begin to spread, and every whispered secret brings someone closer to exposure.

With sharp dialogue and vivid, expressive artwork, this graphic novel is a compelling story of family, faith and identity. Perfect for readers of literary graphic novels such as Aya of Yop City and Fun Home, it explores the tensions between desire, religion and community expectations in contemporary Lagos.
