Marilyn Monroe is one of the most celebrated icons from the twentieth century who devoted her life to the silver screen. Her beauty and charisma were captured in images taken by some of the great photographers of the era including Eve Arnold and Richard Avedon. Marilyn Monroe: Reflections showcases a number of loved photographs alongside iconic quotes by Monroe and those who knew and admired her including Bonnie Greer, Elton John, and Zadie Smith.

From her early years as Norma Jeane, to her unforgettable roles in The Seven Year Itch, and The Misfits, this beautiful giftbook offers readers a personal perspective on the well-loved icon. Monroe sought agency in shaping her career which is illustrated through her own words and her collaboration with photographers in creating her image.

A short introduction by Rosie Broadley, Senior Curator at the National Portrait Gallery, explores Monroe’s enduring legacy and cultural impact.
