Eighty-three-year-old Meredith has recently had hip surgery, but she won't let it hold her back. While her daughter attempts to manage her recovery with rigid rules and downstairs beds, Meredith is busy exploring the world of online dating, lending money to mysterious men and striking up a flirtatious friendship with her neighbour. 

But when her grandson arrives, under 'house arrest' after a run-in with trouble, a chain reaction is set off, and the family faces a series of crises and long-buried grievances. 

Set against the backdrop of a single Sunday afternoon, Meredith is a fresh and witty family drama about the infuriating complexities of family life. Erica Murray's play premieres at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, in 2026, directed by Annabelle Comyn.
