The Hamster In My Head

This wonderfully illustrated therapeutic story book is a godsend for parents, carers, therapists, educators or any individual who knows a child that is struggling, like Sophie. It shows how the power of a relationship with an emotionally available adult can lead to internal feelings of safety, rebuilding self-esteem and increasing resilience.

Every day, Sophie has to live with the hamster in her head. This hamster is mean and critical. It loves nothing more than to make Sophie feel small, and it never, ever shuts up. Not even when Sophie is trying to sleep. Poor Sophie, she can't take much more.

Then help arrives in the form of the calm, kind Mrs Bartlett. With Mrs Bartlett's help, can Sophie actually learn to love her hamster?
