Downton Abbey meets Agatha Christie in this deliciously twisty country house mystery, packed with secrets, scandal and deadly revenge.

A priceless painting has vanished. Everyone is a suspect. And someone is hiding a deadly secret…

Post-war England. Lady Melinda 'Mel' Greenway is determined to put the past behind her. With the owners of Avonby away in London, a small dinner party seems the perfect opportunity to reunite with old friends – and perhaps rekindle her romance with the handsome Inspector Derrin Bradley.

But the evening takes a sinister turn when a priceless Turner painting disappears from the study.

The thief is still in the house. And no one is leaving until the truth comes out.

As Mel and Derrin investigate, old rivalries resurface, carefully guarded secrets unravel and it becomes terrifyingly clear that not everyone at Avonby is a friend.

Behind the grand estate's elegant façade, resentment runs deep. And someone is prepared to go to extraordinary lengths to settle an old score.

Because at Avonby, some secrets are worth stealing for. Others are worth killing for…

Perfect for fans of Downton Abbey, Agatha Christie and gripping historical mysteries filled with family secrets, forbidden romance and shocking twists.
