DESCRIPTION

Conexiones entre la arqueología y otras ciencias y artes
Amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution, archaeology thrives through interdisciplinary collaboration—with sciences, education, and the arts. This volume explores these dynamic exchanges, showing how diverse fields contribute to uncovering the past and sharing its stories across academic and cultural landscapes.

The current context, dominated by technology and a holistic conception of scientific skills, now referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, requires the sciences to establish fruitful dialogues, collaborations and debates not only with other sciences, but also with various cultural fields. In this sense, archaeology would have no raison d'être; it would not be able to extract material remains from the past without the assistance of countless sciences and their techniques. At the same time, the interdisciplinarity to which we refer makes archaeological findings relevant to other scientific, cultural and artistic disciplines.

This collection of essays aims to present an innovative and revealing exploration of these connections, as well as the results that derive from them. The book is divided into three main sections: “I. Interdisciplinary Approaches”; “II. Archaeology and Education”; and “Archaeology and Culture”. As the title suggests, this volume aims to be a meeting point where experts in archaeology, applied sciences, natural sciences, history, education, literature and cultural studies come together to show how their methods, techniques, strategies and backgrounds are indispensable allies in discovering the past and making the results known, both in formal academic forums and in the context of popular culture.
