Amber is staying with her Uncle Randall in Brixton when she witnesses the Big Bad Wolf suddenly materialise right in the middle of their living room. This is how Amber learns that her uncle is actually a thief who recovers stolen items and missing persons from famous fairy tales. Amber is thrust into the mysterious and twisted world known as Evadne.

Together, Amber and her uncle track down Little Red Riding Hood at a suspicious gingerbread house and plan a daring rescue operation with the help of the only people to have escaped before – Hansel and Gretel. As Amber navigates enchantments, daring escapes and unexpected twists, she also discovers the magic in everyday life.
