When Jim's family stay in Dundray, they find that the village is not freiendly. Jim can't read a word, and faces bullies at his new school. When Jim meets Kit, she takes him under her wing and shows him how to survive. However, daily prejudice and thoughtless violence threaten to destroy everyone's lives. Part of the Rhyngom Scheme.
