When he awakes Theo quickly discovers the identity of the high-ranking owner of the hat and then the race is on to find him amongst the crowds of people and items that have filled the Tube station overnight.
From livestock and museum exhibits to impromptu school classrooms, many obstacles along the platform seem to conspire against Theo fulfilling his mission.
When eventually he succeeds Theo can’t believe what he finds.
An exciting story combined with real primary sources of evidence combine to encourage the young reader to enter into the life of times of children of the Blitz in a genuine and sincere way.
