But Scrooge's chief witness is dead, his prime suspect is a mystical spirit that can walk through walls and his two faithful friends, Tiny Tim and the Widow Tassell, are doubting his sanity.

Scrooge's quest to find the killer takes him to the poorest, most deprived parts of the city as he has to face the very worst Victorian London has to offer.
