Chapter One deals with cytomegalovirus infections and the gastrointestinal tract bleeding they cause. Chapter Two explores the current state of knowledge on prevalence and risk factors associated with sarcopenia. Chapter Three reviews the role of epigenetic markers as predictors of autism spectrum disorders in preterm birth. Chapter Nine consists of a case study concerning canine leptospirosis in its icteric form related to Weil's disease. Chapter Ten reviews the available studies comparing the efficacy of ivermectin against topical scabicides, its use in outbreak settings, and gaps in current knowledge. Finally, Chapter Eleven focuses on the different causes of thrombophilia as a predisposition to deep vein thrombosis.
