A Wolf at the Door

mystery meets escapism in a twisty investigation set in rural France
In this latest Dordogne Mystery, Bruno finds himself investigating a murder and battling with both the hunters and the Greens over the growing number of wolves in the Périgord department.

Bruno Courrѐges, chief of police in the Dordogne town of St Denis, returns with his 20th and biggest case yet .

Bruno is tracking a wolf pack after some farm animals are attacked and killed, and a wolf is found to have rabies. The wolf activity reveals human bones, still clad in half-rotted jeans. The discovery could affect plans by British incomer, Toby, who wants to create a Garden of Extraordinary Plants close to where the remains have been unearthed.

Forensics date the bones to the late 1960s - a time of political turmoil in France. Tracing missing persons from sixty years ago is not seen as priority by Bruno's superiors - and even if murder is confirmed, the killer is unlikely still to be alive.

But Bruno has a hunch and he doesn't give up easily.
