His main interest: twins and dwarfs. Kalman and Leopold, two boys, both with twin sisters, met when they found themselves under the tyranny of Josef Mengele, forming a friendship that would endure through unimaginable suffering. This book retells their story in their own words. Based on hours of recorded footage and interviews with both men, Leopold’s son brings to light their voices, their stories, their firsthand testimonies, laying bare the darkest depths to which humanity can sink, the power of friendship and the astonishing resilience of the human spirit.
