Mathematical Tidbits presents readers with a fascinating collection of short essays from a wide variety of mathematical disciplines, ranging from number theory and trigonometry to probability and geometry. Each article represents a small mathematical ‘capsule’ that can be used to inspire and surprise. The text does not assume an advanced knowledge of the subjects treated; mathematicians and students of mathematics will experience no problems in following the development of the concepts at hand, while laypersons will find things to engage and stimulate them into further exploration. A professional mathematician may recognize many of the themes presented but will probably be surprised at some of the ramifications one may not have considered before.

This book is an ideal gift for a student or a mathematics teacher, while anyone with an interest in mathematics will find it an enjoyable collection of familiar and not-so-familiar problems and ideas to read at their leisure.
