Written in honour of Prof. Gautam Gupta, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, this volume explains concepts and theories from development economics, behavioural economics and environmental economics to analyse issues related to intergenerational sustainable development in an interdisciplinary way. It deals with several questions related to the Millennium Development Goals and the Sustainable Development Goals and explains how the phenomenon of development is aligned with SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
