She focuses on the Goddess of pre-history and neo-paganism in order to address the various questions about the historicity and mythological value of such cultures, with special emphasis on critiques of the traditional theology of Judeo-Christianity. Reid draws upon liberation theology and feminist thought to examine the role of women in the church, emphasizing the role of obedience and submission.

She consequently explores the connections between dualistic belief and harmful practices such as: the destruction of the earth's resources and the oppression of women and minority groups.
