Carrie spots her best friend Kesha playing with the new girl at breaktime. Does Kesha have a new best friend now? Doesn’t Kesha like Carrie anymore? Does anybody still like her?

Lime Plus/Band 11+ books provide challenging plots and vocabulary as well as opportunities to practise inference, prediction and reading stamina.

Pages 46 and 47 allow children to re-visit the content of the book, supporting comprehension skills, vocabulary development and recall.

Ideas for reading in the back of the book provide practical support and stimulating activities.

A note from Lisa Rajan: As a very shy child who struggled with self-confidence, I spent most of my childhood overthinking problems that didn’t exist! I wrote And Now Nobody Likes Me to hopefully show children how easily these things happen and how it’s important to recognise when your brain is running away with you and making you sad, worried or afraid. As a mum of three, I’ve seen the problems my own children have had with navigating friendships and keeping perspective, and although they are all much better at it than I was, I realised that we all need a bit of reassurance and empathy sometimes – and a few tools to help us back up the slippery slope!
