Brigadoon

The Vienna Volksoper began its series of successful semi-staged musical productions in the original language withSouth Pacific in 2010. In December 2019, the last highlight was set for the time being: the Austrian premiere ofLerner & Loewe's magical musical fairy tale Brigadoon. The first masterpiece of the later My Fair Lady creatorsmarked the beginning of their world fame in 1947.The new live recording not only contains the well-known hits of the work (including the opening chorus "Brigadoon","The Heather on the Hill", "Almost Like Being in Love", "Come to me, bend to me" and "From this Day on "), but also,for the first time on recordings, the entire ballet music including the moving, bagpipes shaped" funeral music ". Mostof the dialogues have been replaced by German narrative texts - both the English translations and the Germanversion of the lyrics can be found in the booklet.A group of first-class soloists, choir, youth choir and the large orchestra of the Volksoper under the direction of themusical professional Lorenz C.
