The title — a provocative wordplay combining the Greek “Aristos” (“excellent, distinguished”) with “phobia” and the clinical “nervosa” — reflects the album’s critique of elitism, expectation, and the neuroses of modern life.

Produced, written, and arranged by Hide herself, the album showcases her trademark blend of genres: avant-pop, dark pop, post-punk, jazz inflections, glitch textures, and spoken word. At once personal and political, intimate and theatrical, "Aristophobia Nervosa“ tells the story of a woman navigating a hostile reality, scars visible, refusing silence.
