NÍIA is born from the inertia of being a musician and living in Sant Feliu de GuÝxols. In theoldest cradle of catalan punk rock, between towels on the beach and elbows on barcounters, Gemma RodrÝguez (Two Dead Cats, Nord), Gerard Valverde (Crossword, Clarice,Saint Tropez), Johnny Clara (Pitt Marvel, Kathon) and Jordi Busot (Pitt Marvel) meet in 2019at the old Atzavara premises, band orphans to begin to fit together guitars and catchychoruses. As they already know that it will all be about punk rock and raised-fists dancing, faithful to the genre that has been around town since the ancient Sant Feliu Fest.In 2022 they release "NÍIA" with Saltamarges and just like in their shows, without time tobreathe or play half-times, in 2023 they record "II". Both with the band's friend and guru ofguitar records Santi Garcia. The formula is clear and concrete. Rhythmic base riding withoutmonotony. Basses that spin rhythm and melody pushing forceful and melodic guitars to putthe voice in the foreground. An infallible formula reinforced by a voice that is versatile in registers and direct in words.NÍIA seek direct and everyday identification. A look that is as activist as it is customary toexpand on struggles such as the education of children and the multiple robberies we suffer.Gemma embraces the contradictions of eternal youth and achieves the direct identification ofthe listener with odes to friendship that are confused with love, if there is any difference.
